Letham City Boys - Season-1967/68

Manager: Ally McAdam

Secretary: ???

Committee: ???

Following on from last season, the bulk of this fine side moved on. Peggie, Beatson, McManus, P Joyce, Alec Whytock to our own Juveniles. Billy McLeish to Roselea, Eddie Herman to PYC, Brian McClelland was not to follow his brother Ronnie to Letham. He was however playing cricket for Perthshire XI. He would then play for St Johns Juveniles. Replacements of this calibre would be difficult.

There is a team photograph that Ken Drummond has in his possession which shows the following players: Todd, Tainsh, Corcoran, A Forret, Fenton, M Joyce in back row. In front from left to right are: Macintosh, John O'Donnell, S White, Reekie ??, Drew Melley, Neil Campbell.

It is unknown if any trophies were in fact won. Ally McAdam again produced the goods and brought on more fine and talented boys. Johnny Tainsh, Martin Joyce, Alan Forret, John O'Donnell were being called up to the Juvenile team. Bearing in mind the Juvenile's had a very successful and young team.

Ally was again President of the City Boy Association, which turned out to be his final season as he was getting married. He had also been transferred with Scottish Gas from Dundee to Edinburgh and found the travelling restricted his available time for the club. He would be sorely missed not only for his enthusiasm but also for his administration. He also had the distinction of being the very first Letham committee member to hold office at local level by being President of the Perth & District City Boy Association.
